Charlie and Denise — Love Is a Crazy Thing

Filed under: Charlie Sheen, Denise Richards, Paparazzi Photo

It’s the modern day version of, “She loves me, she loves me not” …

One day, Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards hate each other … the next day they’re arm in arm and dining together … like last night, when they hit Da Tommaso in NYC.

As we have reported over time, Denise has gone through periods where she couldn’t stand Charlie’s guts, feeling he was compromising their kids and making her life a living hell.

Charlie says he’s a changed man … and judging by the HUGE smiles on their faces, it seems, Denise believes him … for now.

Dr. Murray Could End Up On House Arrest if Convicted

Filed under: Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson, Conrad Murray Trial, Celebrity Justice

1013_conrad_murray_house_arrest_ex
If Dr. Conrad Murray is convicted of felony involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to the maximum — 4 years in state prison — he will not spend a single day in prison … and he could end up on house arrest.

A new law went into effect in California on October 1, which says, because of overcrowding, people convicted of non-violent felonies cannot be sent to State prison.  Instead, non-violent felons serve their time in county jail.

Law enforcement tells TMZ … involuntary manslaughter is a non-violent felony, which means if Murray is convicted he’d go to L.A. County Jail.

As for how much time Murray would serve … L.A. County Sheriff’s officials tell TMZ … Murray would be jailed for half the actual sentence.  So if he gets the max — 4 years — he would only serve 2.

But there’s a twist … Murray could actually serve way less than 2 years.  Because of severe overcrowding, inmates are eligible for house arrest, based on 2 factors — their prior criminal history, and risk to the community.  Murray has a clean record and, as one law enforcement official put it, he poses no risk … it’s not like he’s going to go out with a bottle of Propofol and kill people.

So if the jail is filled to the gills, the Sheriff could put him on house arrest with an electronic monitoring bracelet.   But one official from the Sheriff’s Department told us … Murray wouldn’t be placed on house arrest right out of the box.  He would almost certainly do some time before the jailhouse doors would open.

Lindsay Lohan Has To Be Crazy For Blowing Off Court-Ordered Shrink

Filed under: Lindsay Lohan, Stephanie Sautner, Celebrity Justice

1013_lindsay_straight_jacket_tmz_ex
Lindsay Lohan
has violated the judge’s order in her probation case by not seeing a psychologist at least once a week … TMZ has learned … and that may be enough to send her to the slammer.

Judge Stephanie Sautner made it clear to Lindsay during her sentence last May … she MUST see the shrink every week, but she has not.  We’re told one of her excuses is that she’s been working out of the country, but Judge Sautner made it extremely clear … work is not an excuse for failing to comply with the terms of probation.

And, Judge Sautner said, if Lindsay violates any court order, she’s going to jail … period.

As we first reported, it’s even worse, because Lindsay was kicked out of the Downtown Women’s Center, where Judge Sautner ordered her to perform 360 hours of community service … kicked out because she repeatedly failed to show up, and when she did she frequently did not stay the required 4 hours at a time.  That’s another violation of Judge Sautner’s court order.

And there’s even more bad news for Lindsay.  Judge Sautner is going to be extremely unhappy when she learns how much community service Lindsay has completed.  Sources connected with the Probation Department tell us, as of September 30, Lindsay logged a grand total of 21 hours, leaving 339 hours which must be completed by May 11, 2012.

Short story … Lindsay could go to jail next week, when she appears before Judge Sautner for her progress report.

Charisma Carpenter — ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Star: Hit & Run Driver Wrecked My Car

Charisma Carpenter
— who played hot cheerleader Cordelia Chase in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” — tells TMZ, she narrowly avoided serious injury this week … after a maniac driver smashed into her car … then fled the scene.

Charisma says the other car was speeding down an L.A. street at speeds around 60 mph … before slamming into her car — and 4 others.

The actress isn’t sure what caused the other driver to be so reckless … but thinks whoever was behind the wheel was “probably on something … or running from the law.”

So far, the mystery driver has not been identified, but Charisma DID catch his license plate number … and has already been in contact with police.

Tareq Salahi — I’ll Stop Trashing My Wife in Public … for Now

Filed under: Tareq Salahi, Michaele Salahi, Neal Schon, Celebrity Divorce, Celebrity Justice

Tareq Salahi
Tareq Salahi
won’t get the chance to trash his “groupie slut” wife in open court … for now … because he and Michaele have agreed to suspend their divorce proceedings while they try to hash out a settlement in private mediation.

It’s a pretty shocking move considering the Salahis might be the biggest fame whores on the planet — but sources close to Tareq tell us, he feels handling the issues behind closed doors will be the most effective way to get a deal done quickly.

Tareq filed a formal request to dismiss his divorce complaint earlier this month … and we’re told private mediation is set to begin in November … when Michaele’s other man, Neal Schon, finishes up his tour with his band, Journey.

If the two can’t reach an agreement during mediation … Tareq is free to refile with the Virginia court … but that means every aspect of their “private” dispute could be made public … and we all know how much they would hate that … right?

Whitney Houston — Flight Crew Threatens Fasten Your SeatBelt … Or Else

1012_whitney_houston_tmz_EX
Whitney Houston
isn’t on drugs anymore … she’s just crazy — and yesterday she almost got kicked off a Delta Airlines flight … because she refused to buckle her seatbelt.

Multiple sources tell us … Whitney boarded a flight in Atlanta Wednesday afternoon … and when she settled into her seat, a crew member asked her to buckle up.

We’re told Whitney refused and “got diva” on the crew member … until another crew member came over and warned Houston that if she didn’t buckle up, she would have to get off the plane.

Whitney eventually allowed one of the crew members to grab the buckle and fasten it for the singer — and the plane was then cleared for takeoff.

Sources close to the singer tell us … Whitney “overreacted a little bit after missing an earlier flight but she’s still 100% sober and was on the way to Detroit for her first day of shooting a new movie.”

It’s not right, but its OK …

Hilary Swank — I REGRET Attending Party for Alleged Murdering Warlord

1013_hilary_ramzan_BN_01
Hilary Swank
says she probably should have said “no” … when she was invited to a birthday party for the President of Chechnya last week … saying she had no idea he’s been accused of torturing and killing a bunch of people.

Swank — along with Jean Claude Van Damme and others — attended a concert in Chechnya for president Ramzan Kadyrov on Oct. 5 … and immediately came under fire from human rights groups.

Now, Swank has issued a statement … saying, “I deeply regret attending this event. If I had a full understanding of
what this event was apparently intended to be, I would never have gone.”

Swank says at the time she accepted the invitation to the concert … she had no idea the event was intended to honor Kadyrov.

FYI — Kadyrov has been accused of torturing and murdering a BUNCH of his political rivals, though Kadyrov says it’s all BS … made up by his enemies to discredit him.

UPDATE: Swank gave a speech at the event … and even said, HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to the President. When someone on stage asked how Hilary knew about Kadyrov’s birthday, she replied, “I read … I do my research.”

Dr. Conrad Murray — The Interview that Sunk Him

Filed under: Michael Jackson, Conrad Murray, Conrad Murray Trial, Celebrity Justice, Exclusive

Dr. Conrad Murray
Dr. Conrad Murray
would NOT be on trial today for Michael Jackson‘s death … had he politely declined to speak with cops 2 days after MJ passed … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Sources directly connected with the decision to prosecute Murray tell TMZ … Murray’s 2-hour interview with LAPD detectives at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina del Rey gave prosecutors the ammo to charge the doc.

Our sources all say, prosecutors almost declined to file the case, but the police interview made all the difference.

We’re told … police and prosecutors believe they never would have been able to prove Dr. Murray administered Propofol to Jackson almost every day for 2 months, were it not for Murray volunteering the info.  The case hinges on Murray’s alleged reckless medical treatment, and prosecutors believe administering the drug in a home setting for that period of time proves recklessness.

And, our law enforcement sources say, cops could never have proven that Murray pumped a total of 5 gallons of Propofol through MJ’s system were it not for the interview.

But there’s something even more fundamental.  We’re told it became apparent to detectives shortly after Murray’s interview that the doctor wasn’t telling the whole truth.  As one law enforcement source put it, “He told the truth 70% of the time during the interview, and lied 30% of the time.  And the lies created the suspicion that led to the investigation that led to charges being filed.”

The real question — why did Murray volunteer to speak with cops and spill his guts?  As one source put it, “Murray and his lawyer never thought he’d be charged with a crime.  He was worried about the bad P.R. and felt he could put a lid on it.”  And another source added, “smart people who are arrogant think they can talk to cops and make a problem go away, but it doesn’t work that way.”

Former Boston Red Sox stud Johnny Damon says his former teammate Jonathan Papelbon earned himself the right to party in New Orleans last weekend … despite the fact the Sox had just skidded their way out of the playoffs.

Damon — who played for Tampa Bay last season — was leaving Boa in Hollywood last night … when we asked about the photos of the Red Sox closer firing off beads on Bourbon street.

Damon replied, “[losing is] never easy and Jonathan Papelbon has had a great career so far … so he can do whatever he wants.”

He added, “I’m glad he’s enjoying himself, I wish he was on my team.”
